Bonaire is a Caribbean island located just off the coast of Venezuela and is part of the Caribbean Netherlands. It lies outside the hurricane belt, making it a year-round travel destination with a warm, sunny climate.

What is the best time to visit Bonaire?

Bonaire is a great destination all year round. The island enjoys steady trade winds and warm temperatures throughout the year. The most popular months are from December to April, while the quieter months offer a more relaxed atmosphere and excellent value.

What language is spoken on Bonaire?

The official languages are Dutch and Papiamentu, but English and Spanish are widely spoken as well. Most visitors find it very easy to communicate anywhere on the island.

What currency is used on Bonaire?

The US Dollar (USD) is the official currency on Bonaire. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are available across the island.

Do I need a passport or visa to visit Bonaire?

Visitors generally need a valid passport to enter Bonaire. Depending on your nationality and length of stay, a visa may or may not be required. We recommend checking current entry requirements before traveling.

Bonaire is considered a safe and welcoming destination. As with any travel destination, we recommend using common sense and taking standard precautions to ensure a carefree stay.

What should I pack for a trip to Bonaire?

Light, breathable clothing is ideal for Bonaire’s warm climate. Don’t forget swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable shoes for exploring the island. Evenings are casual, so relaxed attire is perfectly fine.

What is the time zone on Bonaire?

Bonaire operates on Atlantic Standard Time (AST) and does not observe daylight saving time, making it easy to adjust for most travelers.

Our Resort

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in at Hamlet Oasis Resort is typically from 15:00 (3:00 PM), and check-out is until 11:00 AM. This gives you plenty of time to settle in or enjoy a last morning at the pool or garden before you go.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Hamlet Oasis units are self-catering, meaning breakfasts aren’t automatically included. Each studio or apartment has a fully equipped kitchenette so you can prepare your own meals or enjoy breakfast at one of the nearby cafés or restaurants.

Do you offer airport transfers?

While the resort does not include transfers as standard, you can easily arrange a taxi from Flamingo International Airport (about 6–7 km away) to the resort. Guests often pre-book or agree the fare with the driver on arrival.

Is Wi-Fi available at the resort?

Yes — complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, including in all accommodations and common areas, so you can stay connected while you relax.

Are children welcome at Hamlet Oasis?

Yes! The resort welcomes guests of all ages. With spacious cottages, apartments and studio options, families — as well as couples and solo travelers — can enjoy their stay comfortably.

Is there a swimming pool on-site?

Absolutely — the resort features a refreshing outdoor magnesium pool surrounded by tropical gardens, perfect for relaxing after snorkeling or diving.

Can I go snorkeling or diving directly from the resort?

Yes! Hamlet Oasis is ideally located steps from the water and near the popular “Cliff” dive and snorkel site. The onsite dive center, Dive Friends Bonaire, offers shore and boat dives, gear rental, courses and dive packages right at the house reef.

Is the resort suitable for guests with limited mobility?

Many areas of the resort are on one level and accessible, but if you have specific mobility needs, please reach out ahead of time so the team can advise on the best unit options and assistance available.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation policies vary depending on how you booked your stay (directly or via a travel partner). Please check your reservation details or contact the resort reception for specific terms. (This helps ensure you have the most accurate information for your booking.)

Can the resort help arrange activities and excursions?

Yes — although Hamlet Oasis is self-catering, the team and dive partners on property can help connect you with local activities like guided dives, snorkeling trips, kayak tours, bike rentals and Washington-Slagbaai National Park excursions.

You can choose from cozy studios, spacious one-bedroom apartments, or larger two-bedroom cottages — ideal for couples, families, friends, or solo travelers. Each unit is self-catering and surrounded by tropical gardens steps from the sea.

What amenities are included in each accommodation?

All accommodations feature a fully equipped kitchenette, air-conditioned bedrooms, private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a safe, ceiling fans, and an outdoor porch or terrace to enjoy the Caribbean breeze.

Is there a difference between the studio and apartment layouts?

Yes — the studio is ideal for couples or solo travelers, with a combined living/sleeping area and kitchenette, while the one-bedroom apartment has a separate living area and a larger kitchen space, perfect for longer stays.

Do the cottages accommodate larger groups or families?

Yes — the two-bedroom cottages are great for families or friends traveling together, offering privacy with separate sleeping areas and a spacious living/dining room.

Are linens and towels provided?

Yes — fresh towels are provided every third day and bed linens are changed every sixth day during your stay. Additional requests (like extra linens, hair dryers, or baby cribs) can be arranged through the reception.

Is there daily housekeeping in the rooms?

Standard cleaning service is included periodically during your stay (e.g., towels and linen changes as above). For extra housekeeping or special requests, you can contact reception — just let the team know what you need!

Is air conditioning available in every accommodation?

Yes — all units come with air conditioning in the bedroom(s) plus screened windows and ceiling fans to help keep you cool and comfortable in Bonaire’s tropical climate.

Are accommodations suitable for long stays or work-from-resort visits?
