Hiking

Walk, Discover, and Enjoy

Freedom to Experience Bonaire Your Way

If you are lucky to arrive Bonaire by day, you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the turquoise and deep blue water –a delicate ring of coral, in fact – surrounding our island. Low rainfall means our water is tantalizingly clear and it’s no wonder that early divers fell in love with Bonaire.

Bonaire’s Most Iconic Hiking Destination

One of the most iconic hiking areas is Washington Slagbaai National Park, located at the northern tip of the island. Here, winding trails lead through cactus forests, limestone cliffs, and salt flats where flamingos can often be spotted. The hike to the top of Mount Brandaris, Bonaire’s highest point, rewards early risers with spectacular sunrise views over the island and the Caribbean Sea.

Hidden Hiking Gems of Bonaire

Beyond the national park, smaller trails across the island offer equally memorable experiences. Coastal paths reveal dramatic rock formations and crashing waves, while inland routes pass through quiet landscapes filled with towering cacti, native birds, and the occasional wild donkey. The terrain can be rugged and the sun strong, but the sense of space and tranquility makes every step worthwhile.

Experience Bonaire at Your Own Pace

Hiking on Bonaire is not about rushing from point A to B. It is about slowing down, discovering hidden corners of the island, and enjoying nature at your own pace. Bring water, wear sturdy shoes, and take your time—because here, every trail is another way to experience Bonaire your way.
